Join Wildlife Queensland’s Richmond Birdwing Conservation Network (RBCN) and Logan City Council for a FREE birdwing butterfly vine planting event at Cornubia Forest Park on Saturday 24 September 2022 from 9:00-11:00 am.

Participants will:

  •  Learn about the Richmond birdwing butterfly and its life cycle and conservation needs
  •  Receive two free vines — one for their own yard and one to plant as a team in Council bushland
  •  Receive free fertiliser and all the advice they need to plant and care for vines
  •  Receive a fabulous free water bottle to help them remember to water their vines.

Everyone is welcome to attend. The holes will be pre-dug so the planting is not strenuous!

This event is part of a RBCN project supported by the Logan City Council’s EnviroGrants program to assist the recolonisation of the vulnerable Richmond birdwing butterfly in the Logan area. Find out more about the project here: https://wildlife.org.au/project/adopt-your-vine-mine/

  • Meeting point: Meet at the corner of Parkview Crescent and Alpinia Street, Cornubia.
  • What you should bring: All equipment provided but please BYO gardening gloves if you have any.
