To honour Maleny’s unofficial mascot, the platypus, Maleny Chocolate Co. has created a delicious chocolate creation that gives back.
10% of every Obi the Platypus chocolate sale is donated to Wildlife Queensland’s PlatypusWatch program, to be used for platypus conservation.
Why ‘Obi’?
Obi was chosen from a shortlisted group of names as part of the ‘Name the Platypus Chocolate’ contest run by Wildlife Queensland. We think the name is fantastic! Our Maleny platypus population lives in the Obi Obi Creek, and Obi Obi was the name of a great Aboriginal warrior.
Obi the platypus comes in milk, dark, white and ruby flavours.
