Spikey’s Day Out is an illustrated children’s book about Spikey the echidna, who lives in the Tablelands of tropical Australia. He wishes to travel to the coast and comes across many animals on his adventures. Additional Australian native animals are featured, including Cassy the cassowary from Cassy’s Tale, Bobby the Tree Kangaroo, the green tree frog in Where is Croaky? and Paddles the Platypus.
