Your data. Real impact.

Queensland is Australia’s most biodiverse state — and one of the most biologically rich places on Earth.

threatened species in Queensland

Yet only 10% of these threatened species have population and status trends available.

We don’t know if they’re recovering, stable, or quietly disappearing.

If we don’t have the data, we can’t protect threatened wildlife.

Our mission

Bridging the gap together.

Discover & Protect empowers people across Queensland to collect and share biodiversity data using simple tools, including mobile apps, surveys, and community projects. Every observation helps fill critical knowledge gaps and builds a clearer picture of the species and habitats around us.

Whether you upload a photo, submit a sighting, or take part in a field survey, your contribution supports real conservation decisions. Verified observations contribute to trusted biodiversity databases, including the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA) and Queensland’s WildNet system.
