Trivia night raises funds for Wildlife Queensland

Into the Wildlife Trivia night

7 June 2024

The Carindale Hotel, Brisbane was buzzing with excitement on 28 May 2024 as wildlife enthusiasts and trivia buffs gathered for a memorable trivia night in support of Wildlife Queensland. The event aimed to raise funds for local wildlife conservation while providing an evening of fun and education.

Themed “INTO THE WILD,” the night featured a series of challenging general trivia questions focusing on the strangest, wildest, and most wonderful animal facts from around the globe.

To kick off the evening, participants enjoyed a presentation by Wildlife Queensland Projects Manager Matt Cecil, who shared insights into the work performed by Wildlife Queensland.

Competition was fierce as teams vied for the coveted prize hampers awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners. In addition to the main prizes, attendees also had the chance to win a lucky door prize and participate in raffles. Prizes were generously donated by The Carindale Hotel, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Bellthorpe Stays, Mt Barney Lodge and O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat.

“I was thrilled with the turnout and the enthusiasm shown by everyone tonight,” said Matt Cecil. “Events like this not only help raise much-needed funds for wildlife conservation but also bring the community together to support a great cause.”

Proceeds from the event will go directly to Wildlife Queensland, to help protect and preserve the diverse wildlife that calls Queensland home. The funds will support various conservation projects, including habitat restoration, wildlife research and public education initiatives.

Wildlife Queensland extends its heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers and Carindale Hotel who made the trivia night a resounding success. A special thank you goes to Nicholas Stanton-Cook and Matthew Nicholas.
