Turtles are amongst the most ancient of species still inhabiting the earth. Throughout history, they have had a significant role in human societies. Despite their remarkable evolutionary adaptation for survival, they are now at risk of extinction. Fraser Coast’s world-renowned freshwater turtle expert, Marilyn Connell will discuss the turtle’s societal importance throughout history.
