Trek2Reconnect is a journey across Australia. A journey into the hearts and minds of the Australian people. To give a voice to the changing environment of rural and remote Australia.
In 2023 Wildlife Mountains Outreach Officer Lizz is going to walk 6000km across Australia over 183 days to raise awareness, connect with schools and create positive change for the future.
The Trek will take elements of Wild Mountains’ education programs into rural schools across Australia, to give students tools to make a difference in their changing world. To inspire them, through action, with their community- to make a difference.
The trek begins from the Wild Mountains centre in SEQ to the bottom of Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia.
We will visit schools, community groups and indigenous communities on route sharing messages of understanding and hope for our natural world. Connecting people and reminding them that while we live in an amazing and beautiful country- it is fragile and needs all of us to be a part of the solution for a better future in regards to climate change and loss of biodiversity challenges we face.
