Wildlife Queensland invites you to join ecologist Tamielle Brunt for a free walk and talk to learn about the iconic platypus.

Mackay locals are lucky to have platypuses right on their doorstep! They are an iconic Aussie with many quirky features. Join Tamielle Brunt from PlatypusWatch to learn more about this wonderful species on a leisurely walk and talk around the botanical gardens. This event is supported by the Pioneer Catchment and Landcare Group and Mackay Isaac Tourism.

Where to meet:

Meet at the front of the meeting rooms next to the toilets at the main entrance from Lagoon Street.

What to bring:

  • hat
  • sunscreen
  • water bottle
  • umbrella if it rains.
