Join PlatypusWatch for a walk through platypus habitat in the Albert River catchment and learn all about this iconic species. Led by ecologist and platypus expert, Dr Tamielle Brunt from Wildlife Queensland, you’ll discover everything from their fascinating biology and behaviour to the habitat and food they need to survive.
We’ll also talk about local conservation efforts and how you can support local platypus populations by getting involved with Watergum’s surveys along the Albert River. Following the walk, a light morning tea will be provided and you will have the opportunity to ask the experts additional questions.
Please note, there is no guarantee that platypuses will be present during the guided walk.
This event is free, but you must register and secure a ticket for all people attending. Spaces are limited – each session is set to a maximum capacity.
