Thank you for your support: EOFY 2021 Appeal

15 July 2021

EOFY 2021 AppealA BIG thank you to our members and supporters for helping to protect and conserve Queensland’s native wildlife this End of Financial Year.

132 generous people donated to our #LoveWildlife EOFY 2021 Appeal, raising $42,486. An incredible result!

Thank you for investing in our future and the future of Queensland’s wildlife

With your support, Wildlife Queensland is:

Delivering effective conservation projects focused on restoring vital wildlife habitat and surveying and monitoring of conservation-significant species in south-east Queensland, including:

  • ongoing planting of birdwing butterfly vines and building wildlife corridors
  • the rollout of our 6th year of eDNA platypus surveys
  • nest box installation and monitoring for vulnerable greater gliders
  • camera monitoring and detection dog surveys to search for nationally endangered spotted-tailed and northern quolls.

Educating and engaging communities to raise awareness of wildlife issues and help people to protect local populations, through our Talking Wildlife webinar series, workshops and community events, publications, and partnerships.

Advocating for stronger environmental laws and continuing to campaign on important issues to better protect and conserve our native wildlife and vital habitats, including fighting the exploitation and commercialisation of national parks, promoting plastic waste reduction, and campaigning for a ban on opera house traps.

Working to upgrade a number of our processes and technologies to assist with administrative efficiencies and timely communications. And we have an ambitious strategic plan for the next 5 years to achieve positive impacts on the ecological sustainability of the natural environment.

Together we are making a difference

On behalf of the whole team at Wildlife Queensland, a huge thank you for your generosity and for showing your ‘love for wildlife’.
