Plastic - its fatal not fantastic

This year, Wildlife Queensland and the Boomerang Alliance want to see plastic items like coffee cups, thick plastic bags and other problem plastics also removed. Alternatives – whether avoiding, using reusable containers or switching to certified compostable items – are already available.

Qld is single-use plastic free

After years of campaigning, today is the end of times for single-use plastic items – including plastic straws, stirrers, cutlery, plates, bowls and expanded polystyrene cups and containers – which are all banned in Queensland from 1 September 2021.
