Our story
Wildlife Queensland Brisbane Branch has been going strong since 1979, advocating conservation through enjoyable education activities. Our city is growing, and some people are losing touch with nature. Our activities provide an opportunity to gain a greater appreciation and understanding of wildlife and habitat in the Brisbane area. Well-informed people are the key to finding future solutions for the issues that threaten our city.
What we do
Wildlife Queensland Brisbane Branch advocates conservation through a diverse educational program, which includes expert speakers at monthly public meetings, regular weekend and day trips in and around Brisbane, and our regular branch newsletter.
- Monthly environmental talks and workshops: Please refer to our Facebook page for upcoming event information.
- Supporting eco-tourism: Our branch pioneered eco-tourism in the city of Brisbane with the tremendously popular Batty Boat cruises, now run by Wildlife Queensland Head Office.
- Walks, camps and outings: We visit areas in the Brisbane region on a regular basis to learn about their natural or conservation values, led by guides with a wealth of environmental knowledge.
