Wildlife Queensland wishes to congratulate the Brisbane Fashion Festival on a wildly successful event and sincerely thank its organisers, sponsors and attendees for their generous support of the Society.
“It was the most perfect day!” said event organiser Shannon Harvey of the June 1 champagne lunch and fashion parade dedicated to raising funds for local charities. “Sunshine and blue sky. A full crowd.”
Wildlife Queensland, overwhelmed and grateful to be chosen as one of two beneficiaries of 2018’s green-themed festival held at the Bulimba Gold Club, was excited to receive word recently that the proceeds going to support WPSQ would be just over $15,000.
“Leaving the planet to the next generation has become such a priority,” said Shannon of her inspiration to go wild and green with this year’s event. “It has always been important to me but having a baby [in 2016] really highlights it and I realised that I needed to do something.”
Of this year’s event Shannon went on to say proudly, “Everyone had an amazing time and feedback was it was the best ever. We can’t wait to see everyone next year.”
The Society could not be more grateful for the Festival’s donation, and even more importantly, for its support in bringing the conservation conversation to its attendees and supporters in such a positive and practical way. Thank you!
