Our story

Wildlife Queensland Gold Coast and Hinterland Branch acts as a network for people and organisations, educating and engaging the local community in conservation efforts within the region.

The Gold Coast and Hinterland region is home to a wide array of threatened native species. It is the mission of our branch to generate awareness of these species and educate locals on what they can do to help preserve habitats and support the survival of native fauna and flora.

What we do

Wildlife Queensland Gold Coast and Hinterland Branch protects wildlife and their habitats through campaigns such as:

  • Save Our Spit
  • Save Black Swan Lake
  • Ban Beach Bars
  • End Oxenford Quarry’s 100 more years extension
  • Hinterland protection (including protecting Springbrook).

As well as through:

  • educational workshops
  • submissions
  • public awareness and education activities, such as our annual display on World Environment Day.
