Queensland’s freshwater waterways and the wildlife they support are under siege we need your help before it’s too late.

Pollution, litter, urban development, pests and climate change are creating a perfect storm for Queensland’s freshwater species and habitats, endangering their survival.

Across our beautiful state, alarming declines in inland waters and freshwater ecosystems are evident. Sewage and industrial pollution are leaking into rivers. Invasive plants and animals are degrading water quality and preying on defenceless native wildlife.

83% of our world’s freshwater aquatic life has been lost in just 50 years due to these devastating impacts.

Protecting and restoring freshwater ecosystems is crucial for preventing localised extinction events and maintaining biodiversity.

Your urgent gift today will help make Queensland’s waterways safe for wildlife again.

  • $50 will help purchase resources for community volunteers who help keep our waterways clean.
  • $100 will help pay for the reanalysis of a waterways specimen to detect additional species.
  • $200 will help fund the collection and analysis of platypus eDNA.
  • $500 will help us deliver a community presentation/education session on the conservation needs of a specific threatened species.
And thanks to our generous matching partner, any donation you make by 30 June will be MATCHED dollar for dollar, DOUBLING its impact!

Please donate today.

All donations of $2 or more are 100% tax-deductible in Australia.
